Everything You Need to Know \u2013&nbsp;A Definition\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/5g\/definitions\/what-is-5g\/\">5G<\/a> is likely to be Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), an emerging standard that extends virtualized infrastructure into the radio access network (RAN).&nbsp;<a title=\"What is ETSI ISG NFV?\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/nfv\/definitions\/etsi-isg-nfv\/\">ETSI<\/a> has created a separate working group for it \u2014 the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsi.org\/technologies-clusters\/technologies\/mobile-edge-computing\">ETSI MEC ISG<\/a> \u2014 with&nbsp;about 80 companies involved.&nbsp; MEC&nbsp;uses a lot of <a title=\"NFV Resources\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/nfv\/\">NFV<\/a> infrastructure to create a small <a title=\"Cloud Resources\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sdxcentral.com\/cloud\/\">cloud<\/a> at the edge,\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/catai.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Technical-pilars-OpenFog.png\"><img
