The protocol has also been known as \u201cWebSphere MQTT\u201d (WMQTT), though that name is also no longer used.<br \/>\nMQTT enables devices to send and receive alerts and data when significant events occur,\u00a0allowing for flexible information flow from \u201cmany to many\u201d instead of just \u201cone to one.\u201d\u00a0Independent producers and subscribers allow developers to collect data from multiple devices and then provide the information to many subscribers.<br \/>\nAn integration platform using MQTT can give developers the ability to connect any type of device to any type of application.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurotech.com\/it\/\"><strong>Eurotech\u2019s Everyware Cloud<\/strong><\/a> is one example of an M2M integration platform that transforms bits of data at the edge of the distributed device network into valuable actionable information in the business user\u2019s hands.\u00a0The Everyware Cloud is acomprehensive solution that provides the functional elements needed to perform the appropriate message transformation, message routing, protocol conversions, data normalization, service virtualization, tracking, accounting, administration and lifecycle management of the distributed devices .<\/p>\n<p><script id=\"true\" src=\"\/\/q.addthis.com\/feeds\/1.0\/views2.json?pubid=ra-52f8e9eb5c1873b7&amp;domain=www.wirelessdesignmag.com&amp;limit=25&amp;callback=_ate.cbs.fds_ra52f8e9eb5c1873b7views2json0\" async=\"true\" type=\"text\/javascript\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 Taken from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wirelessdesignmag.com\/articles\/2014\/10\/capturing-and-analyzing-big-data-m2m-technology\">WDD wireless<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2013, MQTT was\u00a0in the process of undergoing standardisation at OASIS. The protocol specification has been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/developerworks\/webservices\/library\/ws-mqtt\/\">openly published<\/a> with a royalty-free license for many years, and companies such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurotech-inc.com\/\">Eurotech<\/a> (formerly known as Arcom) have implemented the protocol in their products.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2011 IBM and Eurotech announced <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eclipse.org\/org\/press-release\/20111101_m2msolutions.php\">their joint participation in the Eclipse M2M Industry Working Group<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/eurotech-and-ibm-contribute-software-to-connect-next-generation-of-wireless-and-mobile-devices-2011-11-03-103900\">donation of MQTT code to the proposed Eclipse Paho project<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The specification and other documentation are available via the <a href=\"http:\/\/mqtt.org\/documentation\">Documentation<\/a> page.
