Cloud standardization- Healthcloud.

Part of the standardization process is the Cloud contract standardization. An essential item on Healthclouds that demand solid knowledge of requirements and liabilities for doctors and managerial people. It is comparable to the digital signature understanding and require to handle several and different Cloud Services.

Al those items as repetely stressed should be provided as a basic knowledge inside of the carriers at the University and demand a deep re-thincking of the subjects that are considered as basic training for healthcare workers in the XXI century.

On this regard USA much ahead of the EU stablishing the requirements of federal contracts. What it has been considered the initial standards of Cloud agreedments. The paper Creating Effective Cloud Computing Contracts for the Federal Government published in February 2012, cover essential items such as:

  1. Selecting a Cloud Service. Choosing the appropiate cloud.
  2. CSP and End-User Agreements. Agreedments required to be specify.
  3. Service Level Agreements (SLAs): To define performance with clear terms and definitions, demonstrate how performance is measured, and what enforcement mechanisms are in place to ensure SLAs are met.
  4. Roles and Responsibilities: Careful delineation of responsibilities and relationships among  agencies, integrators, and the CSP to manage cloud services.
  5. Standards: The use of the NIST cloud reference architecture as well as agency involvement in standards are necessary for cloud procurements.
  6. Security: To clearly detail the requirements for CSPs to maintain the security and integrity of data existing in a cloud environment;
  7. Privacy: If cloud services host “privacy data,” agencies must adequately identify potential privacy risks and responsibilities and address these needs in the contract;
  8. Accessibility of the data to be located, preserved, collected, processed, reviewed, and produced;
  9. Interoperability of data handling taking into account the existing laws.
To our knowledge only France have inside of the EU a slightly comparable althogh not extensive guidelines and neither USA nor EU address the specificity of Healthclouds in sectorial norms. And specifically to certify them for healthcare.
